About Me
Alicia, DNP, FNP-C, IBCLC
I am Alicia and I have been assisting families in feeding their newborns for over 20 years throughout my Women’s and Children’s career. I started my career as a labor delivery, antepartum and postpartum nurse. Then I moved onto outpatient prenatal care in a Maternal Fetal Medicine office combined with outpatient lactation services. I understand the complications that occur in every stage of pregnancy and postpartum and take those into account when helping you form a plan for feedings. I enjoy teaching and listening as most nurses do, but the part of my job that gives me the greatest satisfaction is seeing YOU succeed with YOUR plan. I am so grateful to the patients that have allowed me to help them during this vulnerable time.
Not only do I have professional experience, but I also have personal experience with breastfeeding. I breastfed both of my children for over two years. I struggled (and by that I mean, cried alot) for the first few months with each child and despite the challenges, I was able to breastfeed successfully. I think you can too!
Because breastfeeding is a journey that is not always a straight path, I am focused on making breastfeeding a comfortable and enjoyable process for families. My hope is that I leave you feeling confident in your abilities and decisions. You've got this!
